RESEARCH- DUA LIPA WEBSITE ANALYSIS
The introductory page for Dua Lipa's website is mainly consumed with a distinct image of her with the menu bar clearly displayed at the top. The black menu bar and white font strongly contrasts with the pale pink background of the image and her white t-shirt. It's a bold front page and is immediately eye catching.
Throughout all of the website, on every page, there is a repeated neon purply/blue background with images of a forrest. Dua Lipa creates music in the genre of dance/pop and the background compliments this music. You might typically find a dance music video in a forrest filled with young people dancing, with a bright, yet dangerous colour scheme such as neon purple and blue. There is a videos section, there is a tab called 'Now Playing' which is the music video to her newest single, which is a major way to promote it and make sure fans can see it immediately. Then alongside, there are 2 more tabs with all of Dua's music videos and playlists.
Dua's awards and award nominations are displayed in this awards section. When playing the mouse over each award, the tab becomes highlighted and allows you to be lead onto another page giving you more information on each award. The final tab on the right is a link to her new single 'Electricity' which permits you to go to the link to download it.
At the very bottom of the home page is a subscription box which allows you to become a permanent fan, meaning if you sign up and insert your email, you can get regular emails and notifications about current news and events regarding Dua Lipa, such as merchandise offers or tour dates. This is a key element to the website as it allows for fan loyalty and means people are more likely to be interested in events by her if they get notified. Above it is a boomerang video of Dua Lipa dancing on repeat, roughly 2 seconds long. As you scroll up and down, the videos moves accordingly. It's a cool addition to the page.
When going over important tabs, like links in the menu bar, or pictures with a hyperlink, the image/font changes colour or moves accordingly, making it look more professional and relevant when clicking on it. Each image is either from an album cover/photoshoot or screenshot from a music video. Images mainly consume the pages as they are the key aspect of the website. Each one has lots of colour and excitement in to make the page look more fun and energetic. Dua's logo is displayed in the top left corner of the page and is repeated throughout the page. The font used for it is a slim and narrow font which makes the writing easier to read and more bold so it is easy to follow.
