RESEARCH- KYGO WEBSITE ANALYSIS
When taking a first look at Kygo's website, I noticed how clean and structured everything looked. This was due to the plain white background and even spaces between each section. A bold, distinguishable image is used at the top with Kygo wearing a dark coat and colourful backgrounds to contrast with the white background of the website. This makes the image stand out more.
The logo is clearly displayed in the top left corner of the page and is a very recognisable feature of the audience so is enlarged to make it clear who's website this is. Then, the first piece of information displayed on the page is 'Latest News' with links to all of Kygo's latest events.
The social media links are shown clearly in the top right corner of the page, with links to go to them straight away. The second tab of the menu bar, is 'Tour Dates'. On this page there's a bright and colourful image of Kygo Live which looks energetic and fun, ultimately complimenting this page. Underneath is a list of his live tour dates, with information on where, when and how to purchase them. When clicking on 'Ticket's' the box turns from black, to a bright orange making the process more exciting, and making the page look more intriguing. Aside from the image, the only colours on the page are black and white, so orange is a clever colour to use as it makes it more exciting and fun to look at.
There is a display of a variation of Kygo's music videos in the music video section, each with a link to the videos on Youtube. This would encourage the audience to get involved and develop a loyalty to the music. The neat, structured display of the music videos make it clear and easy to see which is which, additionally the videos are positioned in order or most recently produced to oldest, starting with newest in the top left corner working its way down to the bottom right corner. Furthermore, the cover image of each video has a significant image from the video or features the lead singer.
The news section involves a significant event involving Kygo, and is positioned in a vertical format, with the most recent event at the top, working its way down, with the events getting older as the page goes down. Next to each event, is a date and significant image which compliments the event. As you click the mouse over the event title, the writing becomes red and underlined. This enhances what is being said and the colour of the writing contrasts with the black and white themed colour of the page. Additionally, there's a box where you can chose to read more. As the mouse travels over the box, the box becomes highlighted, making it more bold and easy for the audience to read.
Within the bio & photos tab in the menu bar, it leads you to a biography section where you can get to know the artist a bit more intimately, with a paragraph of information about him. Above is an image of him at a concert, which can be a nice asset for the audience to see as they get to see him with his fans. Underneath are more images, where you can see more about the artist and see more sides to him, to get to know him a bit more. This section is key for the audience to get to know the artist on a more intimate level. Additionally, on the top right of the page, in the menu bar are 'Palm Tree Crew' and 'KygoLife Store' where you can go to his shop and purchase Kygo merchandise.
