I decided for the intertextuality of my music video, I would use the 'Hold my Hand' reference from the Jet2Holidays advert.

This is because firstly, I chose location as one of my representations. In order to display multiple locations in an effective way, I wanted to use a rememberable and unique way of linking each location to the other. As the artist in my video travels through her summer, from location to location, the 'Hold my Hand' reference is used to represent this in an effective, progressive way.

Secondly, in the Jet2Holidays advert, it advertises and promotes the fun and enjoyment the audience gets from following the person holding out their hand, on their holiday. The people featured within the advert ranges from children, to adults, boys and girls. The diversity in the advert compliments my music video as I also chose gender as my second representation, along side location, and both offer diversity, as the advert does.

Additionally, my music video is based on going on holiday and experiencing new and exciting adventurous, as being a young teenage girl travelling in her summer. The same message is presented in the Jet2Holidays advert, as each person shown on screen is shown in a new experience in each shot, whether its in the pool, at the airport, or boarding the plane.

Furthermore, in my music video, there is a collection of shots of lip syncing which immediately breaks the wall between audience and artist, and creates a sense an interaction between them both. Within the Jet2Holidays advert, the people shown on screen also have this intense interaction with the audience, as they are guiding them to their holiday and on their adventures. Both my video, and the advert have this audience engagement in common, making them alike and the intertextuality appropriate to use.
