RESEARCH- WHY TO USE WIX

I have chosen Wix as my chosen website, where I can create my artist's page because it is useful and reliable, which is easy to use for all people, and has features appropriate for everyone who is wishing to make a website. When joining Wix, you are asked what type of website you desire to make. Examples include business, designer, blog, beauty, events music and more. This creates huge variation for what type of website to create, and therefor attracts more people to use the site. When choosing the type of website  you desire, it allows you to pick from lots of options for sites. For my website, I chose the category of Music and Music Artist. It took me to lots of website design options, including designs for jazz, country, electronic, dj and many more artists. I chose an electronic/dance genre page, with vibrant colours to give the correct vibe for the genre chosen. Wix then gives you outlines and assistance through the designing of your website, and offers options for things s...

RESEARCH- DUA LIPA WEBSITE FUNCTION ANALYSIS

Image
When first clicking onto Dua Lipa's website from Google, it takes you to this page which is an introductory page into her site. Her name is in huge, bold font with a calm, pastel colour palette, and a background picture of Dua. It gives you an option to enter the official site via a box at the top centre of the page, and when clicking over the box, it becomes highlighted, with a hyperlink to the official site. Additionally, the social media links are boldly displayed at the bottom of the page, allowing easy access to them.  When entering the site, the loading page is blank with Dua's name in the middle. As the page buffers, the writing appears and disappears, and the background colour switches. Here you can see its green, it changes between green, purple, blue, pink and black. These colours and all bold and similar in colour, giving a fun and energetic feel to the website. Additionally, this loading page appears throughout the website, every time a page buffers, or w...

RESEARCH- KYGO WEBSITE ANALYSIS

Image
When taking a first look at Kygo's website, I noticed how clean and structured everything looked. This was due to the plain white background and even spaces between each section. A bold, distinguishable image is used at the top with Kygo wearing a dark coat and colourful backgrounds to contrast with the white background of the website. This makes the image stand out more. The logo is clearly displayed in the top left corner of the page and is a very recognisable feature of the audience so is enlarged to make it clear who's website this is. Then, the first piece of information displayed on the page is 'Latest News' with links to all of Kygo's latest events.  The social media links are shown clearly in the top right corner of the page, with links to go to them straight away. The second tab of the menu bar, is 'Tour Dates'. On this page there's a bright and colourful image of Kygo Live which looks energetic and fun, ultimately complimenting this pa...

RESEARCH- DUA LIPA WEBSITE ANALYSIS

Image
The introductory page for Dua Lipa's website is mainly consumed with a distinct image of her with the menu bar clearly displayed at the top. The black menu bar and white font strongly contrasts with the pale pink background of the image and her white t-shirt. It's a bold front page and is immediately eye catching.   Throughout all of the website, on every page, there is a repeated neon purply/blue background with images of a forrest. Dua Lipa creates music in the genre of dance/pop and the background compliments this music. You might typically find a dance music video in a forrest filled with young people dancing, with a bright, yet dangerous colour scheme such as neon purple and blue. There is a videos section, there is a tab called 'Now Playing' which is the music video to her newest single, which is a major way to promote it and make sure fans can see it immediately. Then alongside, there are 2 more tabs with all of Dua's music videos and playlists.  Du...

PLANNING- INTERTEXTUALITY

Image
I decided for the intertextuality of my music video, I would use the 'Hold my Hand' reference from the Jet2Holidays advert. This is because firstly, I chose location as one of my representations. In order to display multiple locations in an effective way, I wanted to use a rememberable and unique way of linking each location to the other. As the artist in my video travels through her summer, from location to location, the 'Hold my Hand' reference is used to represent this in an effective, progressive way. Secondly, in the Jet2Holidays advert, it advertises and promotes the fun and enjoyment the audience gets from following the person holding out their hand, on their holiday. The people featured within the advert ranges from children, to adults, boys and girls. The diversity in the advert compliments my music video as I also chose gender as my second representation, along side location, and both offer diversity, as the advert does. Additionally, my music video is...
